Last week, we teased that Paperman is coming to iPad this fall. But we never really explained what that's going to look like.
As you may know, the way iPadOS works means we can't have the Paperman effect over the entire screen the way it does on Mac and Windows.
But many of you still wanted Paperman on your iPad. So we started asking ourselves: what can we do?
What we've been cooking
Over the past few months, we've been cooking on something. Something that aims to turn your iPad into a really satisfying E Ink tablet experience.
We've spent an honestly unreasonable amount of money testing modern E Ink displays, and we're still doing it.
Not the same Paperman
So, in a nutshell, Paperman isn't going to be the same on iPad.
It'll be a place for you to write, annotate and take notes. Basically everything you'd expect to do on an E Ink tablet, without giving up the convenience of being able to do so much more with an iPad.
We're bringing something much more than a screen texture app. It wants to be your new favorite place to read and write.
And we're calling it Paperman Slate.
